What is Raksha Bandhan, Why do We Celebrate Rakhi Festival

Raksha Bandhan is a festival which celebrates the bonds of a brother and sister. The festival is celebrated Hindus religion. It falls in love the month of saawan and people celebrate it on the last day of the month. No matter how much they fight with one another, they always stand behind them in support.

What is Raksha Bandhan

On this day people get up early and wear new clothes. They both sit at one place to perform the rituals. The festival is made up of two words, namely “RakshaBandhan.” Raksha means protection and Bandhan means bond. Thus Raksha Bandhan means the bond of protection

Rakhi Bandhan is a festival of brothers and sisters. On this day, sisters tie a special thread on this brother wrist. Sisters pray to God for the safety, good health and bright future of their brother. Brothers give gift to their sister and promise to take care of them in every situation.

Why do We Celebrate Rakhi Festival

The rituals of Raksha Bandhan involves a thali containing Chawal, roli, sweets and a diya. First, the sister put a Tilak on the brother’s forehead, followed by the aarti. Then she ties the rakhi on the brother’s right wrist and feeds some sweets.

There is a happy atmosphere in the whole family on this day. This festival is a symbol of love, togetherness and faith.

 

 

When is Rakshabandhan 2022. The full moon date of Sawan month will start at 10:39 am on August 11 and will end on August 12 at 7.05 am. The festival of Rakhi can be celebrated on August 11. But again, on this day, Bhadra Kaal will start in the morning itself and will end at 8.51 pm.
